The first week of the College Basketball transfer portal saw over 1,000 players enter the transfer portal seeking their next school. Ahead of a pivotal transfer portal cycle for Matt McMahon, the LSU Basketball program lost four players to the transfer portal as Vyctorius Miller, Corey Chest, Tyrell Ward, and Mike Williams III entered the transfer portal.
The Tigers have massive holes to fill as four of their five leading scorers depart whether its to the transfer portal or as they've run out of eligibility. The program has vowed to further invest in the team using NIL resources after being one of the lowest spenders in the SEC which is promising for LSU.

The LSU Tigers land a young player with a ton of upside landing Nwoko who's coming off of his Sophomore season where he started every game for the Bulldogs. LSU lacked size all season long especially after losing Jalen Reed to a torn ACL which makes adding the 6 foot 10 forward a great move.
Adding Nwoko gives LSU a ton of flexibility at Power Forward and Center which they didn't have last season. Nwoko can slot in alongside any of Jalen Reed, Robert Miller, Daimion Collins, or Matt Gilhool giving LSU tons of size on both ends of the court. It's surprising to see LSU's first addition come at forward given the depth the Tigers will have next season but, Nwoko is a clear replacement for the void left by Corey Chest's departure.
If Nwoko is able to use his experience this season starting in the SEC and develop for LSU this will be a great addition for LSU. Nwoko is young and far from a finished product and he'll really fare well from all the experience he got as he now knows what areas defensively he needs to improve on to take his game to the next level.
