The LSU Basketball program has built a ton of momentum in the transfer portal this week. On Monday, LSU landed their first transfer portal addition, nabbing Mississippi State starting center Michael Nwoko. The Tigers biggest recruiting win of the entire Matt McMahon era came on Monday Night as LSU beat out Kentucky, Florida, and Syracuse for UNLV guard Dedan Thomas Jr a top 10 player in the transfer portal.
While LSU has its massive addition, the Tigers still have plenty of work to do in the transfer portal. The Tigers lose four of their five leading scorers whether its to the transfer portal or because they're out of eligibility which leaves massive holes to fill.
The LSU Tigers now have their star point guard and a solid rebounding forward with size but, LSU still needs at least two more scoring guards and players on the wings. On Tuesday, LSU will have the chance to fill their voids at guard as Elon transfer Tajuan and Takai Simpkins are taking a visit to Baton Rouge.

TK Simpkins is heading into his Senior season after two seasons at Elon and a season at Northwest Florida State College. Takai or "TK" is a 6 foot 4 shooting guard ranked as the Nation's 47th ranked transfer. TK Simpkins led the Elon Phoenix in scoring averaging 16.4 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game, and shot 42.3% from three.
TJ Simpkins is the twin brother of TK Simpkins and followed the same path as his brother. While TK Simpkins led the team in scoring, TJ wasn't far behind scoring 14.6 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 2.9 APG, and shot 40.8% from the field. TJ Simpkins is a 6 foot 5 shooting guard ranked as On3's 95th ranked transfer but, he may be the more attractive target as he'll have two years of eligibility.
Given that LSU needs as many capable scorers as possible, targeting both Simpkins brothers makes a ton of sense for Matt McMahon. The Tigers already have their traditional point guard on board and surrounding him with players that can also score when he creates for them is crucial. Given that LSU already has both on campus, the Tigers could move quickly to wrap the recruitments up.
