The attention for LSU's staff currently is building out the 2026 recruiting class with the season now over and the transfer portal activity finally slowing down. The LSU Football team is off to a great start to the offseason after nabbing Top 100 edge rusher JaReylan McCoy during the All American Bowl. Landing McCoy has moved LSU's recruiting class all the way up to the 4th ranking Nationally and gives LSU the second ranked class in the SEC.
As of late, LSU's Coaching staff has hit the ground running building out their recruiting boards by offering a few top 2026 recruits. Joe Sloan offered Arizona State Commit Jake Fette, Corey Raymond offered defensive back Brandon Arrington, and Brad Davis has been offering offensive linemen in the 2026 and 2027 classes.
The latest offer from LSU's staff comes as LSU offers wide receiver Christian Ward from the 2026 recruiting class.
According to On3, Christian Ward is the 187th ranked player in the class, the 24th ranked wide receiver, and the 24th ranked player out of Georgia.
At 6 foot 3, Ward is a wide receiver with a great blend of size and speed and has picked up a flurry of offers after impressing at the Navy National Combine.
Thus far LSU holds two commitments at Wide Receiver from Louisiana Natives four star Jakai Anderson and four star Kenny Darby. Last recruiting cycle, we saw LSU swing big in its pursuit of top out of state receivers and it didn't pan out as LSU's two receiver signees both came from In State. The Wide Receivers that work out the best for LSU are often from Louisiana which makes landing Destrehan's Jabari Mack so important this cycle but, LSU should continue to push for Out of State players as well.
