As the 2025 recruiting class is almost across the finish line, the Tigers will start to make their pushes to build out the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes. As things currently stand, LSU holds the eighth ranked recruiting class in the 2026 cycle while they don't have a recruit in the 2027 class.
At the end of September, Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan started to build out his board of Quarterbacks in the 2027 class. Sloan offered In-State Elijah Haven, Colton Nussmeier, Peyton Houston, Trae Taylor, and Trent Seaborn.
LSU has seen some early returns on the scholarship offers as Illinois Native Trae Taylor has cut his list to 12 teams including the LSU Football team.
We are a long way from the 2027 recruiting class signing with their schools but, this is great news for LSU. The Tigers likely won't land a top quarterback recruit in the 2026 recruiting class as Bryce Underwood will block any recruit from playing until their Junior season.
This season, Trae Taylor passed for 3,061 yards and 20 touchdowns with 7 interceptions with another 5 touchdowns and 437 yards rushing while completing 69% of his passes.
Most quarterbacks make their decisions earlier in the cycle than any other position as recruiting classes are built around the Quarterback. On3 has only ranked 100 recruits thus far so Taylor is unranked but, based on the programs recruiting him you can see that he is one of the top quarterbacks in his class.
