The Transfer Portal can give you key impact starters at positions of needs but, it can also take away a ton of the depth a program builds up. The LSU Football team has brought in a few top end transfers already and will continue to get transfers on campus to add to the roster. On the departure side LSU has mostly lost depth pieces and pieces that could've become key starters down the line.

The latest player that has entered their name in the transfer portal is defensive tackle Jay'Viar Suggs who transferred into LSU this spring.

The loss of Suggs is a blow for LSU as he showed serious promise after taking the jump to the SEC from Grand Valley State. Suggs was the Tigers best pass rushing defensive tackle recording 2.5 sacks while constantly applying pressure on the quarterback. Suggs finishes his LSU tenure with 10 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 2.5 sacks

Losing Suggs hurts as the staff made a great evaluation and with a full offseason in the program he could've emerged as a top end starter. The Tigers will return a ton on the defensive line especially on the inside with Jacobian Guillory, Dominick McKinley, Ahmad Breaux, Shone Washington, and Jalen Lee all slated to return. Add in the fact that Bo Davis signed four defensive tackles in this recruiting class and LSU will be more than fine at defensive tackle.

Suggs enters the transfer portal but, the Tigers still can get him to return after he sees what is out there for him.
