LSU doing its best to turn the best job available in college football into the worst

We can all thank Jeff Landry for this.

Where do we even begin with this nonsense that's surrounding the program? When Brian Kelly was first fired by the LSU football team, it felt like people were going to be racing to get their names in as a potential candidate. Fast forward to present time and the Tigers are looking like a bit of a mess and it's all just quite silly.

Ed Orgeron said the quiet part out loud on why LSU fired Brian Kelly

This is something we can't blame Kelly for this time around. Nope, it's on Governor Jeff Landry, who is throwing Scott Woodward under the bus and creating a lot of confusion on who's actually going to be making the new HC hire. With all of this going on, which coach at a stable job is going to want to jump ship and take over in Baton Rouge?

Jeff Landry is creating a mess at LSU that could scare away coaches

Do we think Lane Kiffin is seeing all the drama going on at LSU and he's thinking to himself, "hey, you know what, I'll leave my great job in Oxford with Ole Miss and make my way to get involved with the soap opera going on in Louisiana." Yeah, not a chance.

Kiffin isn't the only one who has probably raised an eyebrow or two over Landry essentially throwing a fit with the cameras rolling and claiming that the current LSU athletic director doesn't have a clue what he's doing and that he won't have a major say in the hiring process. If anything, Landry has everyone talking but for all of the wrong reasons.

Donald Trump leading the search for LSU's next coach? Sure, why the hell not. If you look on Twitter, there's actually plenty of people joking/wondering what Landry's buyout is. That's pretty dang funny, but it adds to how ridiculous the last 24 hours have been.

LSU is without question one of the top jobs in the SEC, maybe even the country. There should be a line of potential Kelly replacements showing high interest in the job. The Tigers won the natty in 2019 and with the right man in charge, the glory days can return once again. With all of that said, someone needs to take the mic away from Landry because while he thinks he might be helping the situation, all he's doing is making things much, much worse.
