Lane Kiffin has been at the top of LSU hot board since the minute Brian Kelly was fired on October 26. Along with LSU, Kiffin is being heavily pursued by the Florida Gators for their opening as well. Ole Miss is trying to keep him in Oxford, which means that three different SEC schools are vying for his services. There's been plenty of drama surrounding Kiffin's situation, and he has put the latest rumor to bed with his comments on Tuesday.

Lane Kiffin again has LSU fans guessing with new cryptic social media post

Earlier this week, a report from The Athletic stated that Ole Miss gave Kiffin a deadline to tell them if he was staying or planning to leave. The date listed was the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State which is scheduled for November 28. However, Kiffin went on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday and disputed those claims.

When McAfee asked about the ultimatum, Kiffin shot those rumors down quickly. "Yeah, that's absolutely not true," said Kiffin. "There's been no ultimatum or anything like that. I don't know where that came from, like a lot of stuff that comes out there."

Kiffin went on to discuss how proud he is of the season Ole Miss is having. The Rebels are 10-1 and have all but locked up a spot in the College Football Playoff. They enter their second by week this week, which means that even more attention will be paid to every comment Kiffin makes.

As LSU fans grow nervous, Ole Miss fans are certainly happen to hear that no ultimatum is in place. However, a lot can happen over the next few weeks as both LSU and Florida continue their pursuit of Kiffin. Kiffin's family members visited Gainesville on Sunday and Baton Rouge on Monday, so it appears that the Kiffin's are exploring all options. Rumors are sure to continue flying, and the drama doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
