This season all we've seen the transfer portal do is take players away from the LSU Football program. The Tigers lost starters like CJ Daniels, Sage Ryan, and Jay'Viar Suggs along with players like Ka'Morreun Pimpton, Jordan Allen, and Da'Shawn Womack who could've started for the Tigers this season. That is no longer the case as LSU has added its first impactful player on defense via the transfer portal landing Florida Cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson.

As soon as Ja'Keem Jackson entered the transfer portal, the LSU Tigers looked like the clear front runner given the fact that Corey Raymond recruited Jackson to Florida and was his positional coach for his Freshman Season. On Wednesday, On3's Pete Nakos, Steve Wiltfong, and Shea Dixon all put in their predictions that Jackson would land at LSU making it seem like this would get done quickly.

Jackson was one of Florida's Starting Cornerbacks to start the season but, an injury cost him the majority of the season. He was highly sought after in the transfer portal as On3's 8th ranked cornerback in the transfer portal. Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, Texas A&M, USC, and Michigan all reached out to Jackson among others but, the Tigers got it done.

The Tigers need to replace a ton in the secondary as Safeties Major Burns, Sage Ryan, and Jordan Allen all leave the program along with starting cornerback Zy Alexander. Now LSU adds Ja'Keem Jackson alongside Freshmen cornerbacks DJ Pickett and Aidan Anding as potential plug and play players in the Secondary.

LSU is seeing The Corey Raymond effect

The entire recruiting cycle we saw players like five-stars DJ Pickett and Kade Phillips drawn towards playing for Cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond as few have a track record as great as his. The Tigers now have landed the Nation's Top Cornerback in DJ Pickett and an instant plug and play cornerback thanks to Corey Raymond. Going forward, LSU will be in contention for every top cornerback with Raymond back in Baton Rouge as long as they can compete on the NIL Front.
