The LSU Football team is fully focused on recruiting as the staff looks to build out its 2026 recruiting class while starting to build out its 2027 recruiting class. Matt McMahon and the LSU Basketball team have it much harder as they're focusing on their current season while recruiting is also a priority.

The 2027 recruiting class is a long ways away for both programs but, as LSU looks toward the future the Football and Basketball programs may be fighting other schools an each other for elite 2027 recruit Ahmad Hudson.

Ahmad Hudson is a legacy recruit as his father Antonio was on the LSU Basketball team from 2002-2005 making the All-SEC Tournament Team twice. The LSU Football team offered Ahmad Hudson back in August of 2023 while the Basketball team followed suit on November 10th of 2024.

Ahmad Hudson's latest performance showed what a monster he can be on the Basketball court.

While what he can do on the Basketball court is impressive, Hudson has already started turning heads on the football field as he flashes his potential as a Wide Receiver and as a potential tight end.

While the 2027 Class isn't fully ranked yet, On3, 24/7 Sports, and Rivals have ranked their top 100 recruits in the class with Hudson ranking in all three. 24/7 Sports has Hudson as the 32nd best player in the class, On3 ranks him as the 92nd ranked player, and Rivals ranks him as the 13th best player in the Class.

The 2027 Basketball rankings aren't set yet but, based on what Hudson is doing on the court he'll likely crack the lists for each site.

A factor that may help both the LSU Football team and the LSU Basketball team is the fact that Trey'Dez Green is being allowed to play both sports. How the Basketball team uses Trey'Dez Green could play a massive factor especially if he's able to contribute during SEC play despite first finishing off the football season.
