All of the news coming out of the LSU Football Program as of late has been surrounding recruiting. The Tigers have been offering recruits in the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes as they look to build out their recruiting boards before the upcoming recruiting dead period. The final stretch before the dead period has LSU's Coaching staff hitting the road as the travel all over the Country visiting top recruits to offer scholarships and continue building up relationships.
The best news for the LSU Football team is when a recruit either sets a visit to LSU or when a recruit cuts down their list of potential schools including LSU. As of late, elite recruits such as Jabari Mack, Ayden Pouncey, Tristen Keys, and others have cut their lists of 30+ offers down including LSU in their final groupings.
Saturday brings more good news on the recruiting trail as elite safety Chace Calicut has cut his list down to just ten programs including LSU.

Chace Calicut is the 203rd ranked player in the Class, the 17th ranked safety, and the 20th ranked player in Texas according to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings.
Given that Calicut is from Texas it'll be incredibly tough to lure him out of the State, especially with Texas and Texas A&M cracking the Top Ten. For LSU the Tigers will need to get Calicut on campus this Spring if they're going to make themselves one of the top teams in his recruitment.
The Tigers just spent this entire offseason searching the transfer portal for starting caliber safeties. The LSU Football team will need to push hard for safeties to restock the room better building for the future rather than relying on the transfer portal. LSU already has one elite safety on board in Aiden Hall while Blaine Bradford is a five-star recruit at safety and the brother of Jacob Bradford who LSU signed last cycle.
