LSU Football defensive tackle commit quiets the rumors of a potential flip
We are just under two weeks away from the opening of the Early Signing Period where a vast majority of the nation's top recruits will sign on with their future schools. These final two weeks are mass paranoia for fanbases and the coaching staffs as teams make their final pushes to flip committed recruits from other schools.
LSU is already on high alert amid a three-game losing streak as Ole Miss has already flipped Louisiana Native Devin Harper while predictions have been made for Derek Meadows to land at Notre Dame and Mike Tyler to stay home to play for the Gamecocks.
The latest player that popped up on everyone's radars was Texas Native defensive tackle Zion Williams as On3's Justin Wells reported that Williams was going to attend Texas Vs Kentucky as the Longhorns look to keep him home.
The news set off alarms immediatley as LSU desperatley needs to bring in some talent in the trenches especially on defense. The good news for LSU is that Williams has seemingly shut down the rumors and the flip concerns.
Now Williams may still show up in Austin, Texas for the game but, the fact that he publicly confirmed his status with LSU is encouraging.
Keep an eye on where recruits visit these final two weekends
While there will be a ton of talks about potential flips these next two weeks what you really need to keep an eye on is who visits where. If LSU gets one of its top flip targets to Baton Rouge, it gives you a ton of hope for a potential flip. If LSU's commits pop up at one of the schools rumored as a flip candidate it should be a little alarming. The biggest thing is that LSU's final two games are at home which gives them a chance to get any potential concerns back in the building before Early Signing Day.
