While the Transfer Portal doesn't officially open until December 9th, that hasn't stopped hundreds of players from declaring their intentions to enter the transfer portal. Thus far, LSU has lost Rickie Collins, CJ Daniels, Jordan Allen, Da'Shawn Womack, Landon Ibieta, and Shelton Sampson Jr to the transfer portal. The latest entry comes from Safety/Star Kylin Jackson who announced on Wednesday Afternoon he'll be transferring.

For the most part, LSU hasn't lost any massive impact players or had any truly shocking entries besides starting wide receiver CJ Daniels. Losing Kylin Jackson is one that certainly hurts and comes as a bit of a surprise.

LSU will be losing starting safety Major Burns who plays the Star which is where Jackson excelled while they may also lose Sage Ryan and Jardin Gilbert. Given the departure of Major Burns, Kylin Jackson looked like a player in-line for that job next season which does make it a surprise that he will transfer.

On Wednesday, LSU signed three safeties and they'll lose at least three safeties with transfers Jackson and Jordan Allen as well as Major Burns while Sage Ryan and Jardin Gilbert have decisions to make.

The safety position is one where you'd like to see LSU go out and land potential difference makers as they've lacked playmakers at the role for a few seasons now. On the roster, LSU has Javien Toviano and DaShawn Spears who have the ability to step right into starting roles next season as they have some experience under their belts.
