This weekend was a pretty uneventful weekend for the LSU Football team as they won wire to wire against Arkansas on the road. Being on the road meant that LSU wasn't able to host any recruits which also means that there wasn't too much on the recruiting trail. Regardless, LSU remains a one loss team and in contention for the Playoff which is all we could've asked for after week one.

LSU's Defensive effort on Saturday was incredible

Heading into this game, the way Arkansas could've pulled off the upset was if they were able to establish the run. The Razorbacks couldn't get anything going on the ground as LSU held Arkansas to just 38 yards on 19 carries as they averaged just 2.0 yards per carry. The Tigers turned Arkansas into a one-dimensional offense which made it much easier on the secondary. The Razorbacks only let up a handful of big plays which made it tougher for Arkansas as they needed to string together the perfect drive to beat LSU.

Brian Kelly cashes a big check for beating Arkansas

We all know about how massive Brian Kelly's contract was when LSU brought him over from Notre Dame and about all of the incentives in the contract. One of Brian Kelly's incentives was for getting LSU to bowl eligibility and when he does so he gets $500,000 which is a massive bonus. By beating Arkansas the LSU Tigers picked up their sixth win which means that LSU is now Bowl Eligible.

Former LSU Coach takes a shot at Matt House

Brian Kelly hired Jamar Cain as the defensive line coach on his initial staff at LSU. However, his tenure ended in the Spring of 2023. Part of the reason behind Cain's departure was his relationship with Matt House, as there was clearly more going on behind the scenes. After the Broncos beat the Saints this week, Cain took to Twitter, where he stated that he can coach in Louisiana and seemingly called Matt House a clown.

LSU surprisingly gets jumped in the AP Poll

While LSU didn't pick up a massive win on Saturday, it was hard to see them getting jumped in the AP Poll. While Alabama fell to 15th, Tennessee made the jump from 11th to 7th jumping LSU who was ranked 8th last week. While beating Alabama has been an impressive win, the Tide shouldn't get the same credit it has in the past as this is a completely different program. Add in the fact that Tennessee lost to this same Arkansas team a few weeks ago while LSU dominated them and it makes no sense that Tennessee made the jump.
