We're deep into the offseason for the LSU Football team as the news cycle is starting to die down aside from when new players hit the transfer portal. While LSU has done a ton in the transfer portal, the Tigers still have some work to do and we'll see LSU look to add defensive backs this week. The biggest questions for LSU still remain as who will coach the tight ends and the secondary.

Auburn Defensive Back Keionte Scott is visiting on Monday

After a rough showing by the current defensive backs, LSU is still searching for potential fits via the transfer portal. This week, LSU will get Auburn transfer Keionte Scott onto campus for a visit. Scott was solid in 2023 but, this season was a down year and he now looks for a fresh start. Scott has rotated through the defensive backfield which makes him an attractive piece for LSU as he could compete for a role at safety.

NC State Cornerback Tamarcus Cooley to visit on Thursday

The Tigers search for transfer defensive backs doesn't end with Keionte Scott as LSU is set to host transfer defensive back Tamarcus Cooley on a visit this week. Cooley started his career off at Maryland before he transferred to NC State spending one season with the Wolfpack. This season, Tamarcus Cooley recorded 39 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 6 pass defenses while grading out as the highest ranked player on NC State's defense. Adding a player in Cooley with multiple years of eligibility would be a massive addition for the Tigers.

LSU's NFL Wide Receivers cap off incredible year in the NFL

This season in the NFL, LSU's Wide Receiver Alumni have gone out and absolutley dominated the NFL. The top three receivers in yards to finish the season are Ja'Marr Chase who won the Triple Crown, Justin Jefferson, and Brian Thomas Jr an insane year for LSU. Malik Nabers missed two games yet, finished 6th in the league in yards and set the Giants franchise record for most catches in a season. Given how quickly LSU Wide Receivers are becoming stars in the NFL, it has to be apparent to top receiver recruits how great LSU can be for their future.

Could Tommy Rees reunite with Brian Kelly?

As LSU looks for a tight ends Coach, one name with ties to Brian Kelly has been the center of LSU fans attention. Kelly's former offensive coordinator Tommy Rees spent this season coaching tight ends for the Cleveland Browns and now that their season has concluded, he may look to make a move. Rees may have a ton of options as the Browns will replace their OC, Rees spent time with Mike Vrabel this year and could land with Vrabel, but if he's passed up for both roles he may be on the move again. It'll be interesting to see if the two are tied together past fan speculation but, getting another experienced play caller on the staff will only help the offense.
