The recruiting news has been pretty quiet for the LSU Football team as they're set to play their second straight game on the road. The Tigers are still dishing out scholarship offers and they're still setting up visits for some of the home games left on the schedule. The biggest weekend for recruiting will be the Tigers game against Alabama.

One of the latest recruits to plan his trip to Baton Rouge is Atlanta Native Chase Linton who is currently uncommitted.

Early on in his recruitment, Chase Linton wasn't a highly touted recruit and was committed to Rutgers until August. The Georgia native has made visits to Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, and Florida State. The Florida State Seminoles will get Linton on campus again before LSU gets him onto campus for the Alabama game.

According to 24/7 Sports, Linton is the 45th ranked player in this class and the 4th ranked edge rusher while he still averages out as a top 300 player in the Composite rankings. The Tigers have landed two four-star edge rushers in Jesse Harrold and Damien Shanklin but, you can never have too many pass rushers.

It will be tough for LSU to pull this recruitment out as this will all be decided pretty late in the cycle but, they should be getting the final visit before Linton's decision. Like Brian Kelly has done in Louisiana, Kirby Smart has gotten anyone he has wanted out of Georgia so going into Georgia and stealing a stud defensive lineman will be a tough task.

There is a solid case for LSU in this recruitment which the staff is definitely using as it's pitch. Both Bradyn Swinson and Sai'vion Jones will likely be gone following this season meaning there will be a chance for any player to start right away. When you look at what Kevin Peoples has done development wise, it's also arguable that he is the best developer of talent at the position.
