The LSU Football team entered the holiday weekend with high aspirations as four massive recruiting targets planned to announce their commitments. The Tigers landed Zion Williams on July 4th and Brandon Brown today and now, the LSU Football team is 3 for 4 landing edge rusher Damien Shanklin.

Landing Shanklin is massive for this recruiting class, especially on the defensive side as LSU lands the Nation's 86th ranked player and the 12th ranked edge rusher in the class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Damien Shanklin ranks as LSU Fourth highest ranked recruit in the class behind Bryce Underwood, Harlem Berry, and Carius Curne while ranking as LSU's best defensive commit.

When LSU was able to get Bo Davis to return to his alma mater, it was a massive pickup as he would instantly become one of the most valuable recruiters for the Tigers. This weekend Davis has put this on display landing three massive defensive recruits.

This weekend has helped bolster LSU's recruiting class as the Tigers were jumped by Alabama, Oregon, and Georgia over the past few weeks. Now with the addition of three four-star recruits, LSU is in a great position to jump its way back into the top three of recruiting rankings over the weeks to come.

The Davis' continue to be LSU's two best recruiters

The LSU Football team has two incredible assets on the recruiting trail in Brad and Bo Davis. Thus far, Brad Davis has built LSU's offensive line into one of the Nation's best while dominating on the recruiting trail landing three of the top 100 recruits in the country. Bo Davis hasn't had the chance to coach this defensive line yet but, he's recruiting at a high level landing high impact players like Jesse Harrold and Damien Shanklin to help rebuild this defense after a few down seasons.
