The recruitment of five-star WR Easton Royal continues to be a closely-followed process among college football fans throughout the country. Royal is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 11 wide receiver in the country and the No. 4 overall player from Louisiana in the 2027 class. A rising junior, Royal finished his sophomore season at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans with 1,149 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns in 12 games. Now, he is looking to orchestrate a monster junior season.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound wideout is in the process of scheduling his fall visits, and has announced that he will be visiting at least eight schools this fall. To the delight of LSU fans, Baton Rouge is on his schedule. An exact date for his visit to Tiger Stadium is not yet known, but it is certainly exciting to see LSU in his list of contenders.
Along with visiting LSU, Royal will also make campus visits at Ole Miss, Clemson, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Florida, and Tennessee this season.

Landing in-state talent is a must for Brian Kelly and LSU
LSU currently does not have any commits for the 2027 class. Landing Royal would be a massive get for Brian Kelly and his staff. His elite game-breaking speed makes him a highly-touted recruit for nearly every major program in the country. Earlier this summer, Royal won the fastest man competition at Future 50 with a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.29. He currently has over 30 offers and counting. He may be the best overall athlete in the 2027 class, and is capable of making a big play every time the ball is in his hands.
LSU has three WR commitments for the 2026 class: five-star Tristen Keys, four-star Jabari Mack, and four-star Kenny Darby. Keys has been committed to the Tigers since March, but another SEC school keeps working to flip the No. 1 WR from LSU. Keys has remained steadfast in his commitment to LSU, but it's a situation worth monitoring as he competes in his junior season at Hattiesburg High School in Mississippi.
Playing in New Orleans at Brother Martin, it is pivotal that LSU goes all-in for Royal. The in-state product can lead the way for LSU's 2027 recruiting class.

The Brother Martin standout is a track star, and you can see it when he blows by defenders for a TD.
