This weekend the LSU Football team hosts Oklahoma in Tiger Stadium for its final home game of the season. Given that the Early Signing Period for recruits opens on Wednesday next week hosting recruits this weekend is a great chance to close out some recruitments. This weekend, the LSU Football team will host five star commit DJ Pickett as they look to close this recruitment out.

This summer, one of the people that helped LSU the most as it tried to reel in the initial commitment from DJ Pickett was another five-star cornerback from Florida who paved his way to superstardom at LSU Patrick Peterson.

As LSU tries to nail down this recruitment to ensure they get the Nation's top defensive back onto campus LSU will be enlisting some extra help. This weekend when LSU has its guest captains for the game, the Tigers will go with four captains rather than three which we've seen all season with Patrick Peterson among the group.

Whether Patrick Peterson was originally planning on attending or not, having Peterson on campus this weekend is massive for the program. The Tigers desperately need to hold off Miami and Oregon to keep their five star cornerback commit in the fold.

In all likelihood, Patrick Peterson won't make or break the Tigers pitch to Pickett as it'll revolver around playing time, Corey Raymond's development, plan, and NIL.

The Tigers have long lacked significant playmakers in the secondary and to this point, Corey Raymond has done an incredible job landing Five Stars in Pickett and Kade Phillips as well as Louisiana's top cornerback Aidan Anding. Getting this trio to Baton Rouge will go a long way in turning around LSU's defensive identity.
