This offseason, LSU loses Left Tackle Will Campbell, Left Guard Garrett Dellinger, Right Guard Miles Frazier, and Right Tackle Emery Jones Jr all to the NFL Draft. The Tigers will return just one starter on the offensive line in DJ Chester which leaves LSU with a lack of experience on the offensive line heading into 2025.
While LSU signed a solid offensive line class out of High School, you'd typically like to have more than one experienced starter heading into the season. LSU has landed its first experienced offensive lineman of the cycle as the Tigers land Virginia Tech starter Braelin Moore.
During Braelin Moore's time at Virginia Tech he started 24 games for the Hokies. In 2023, Moore played guard before moving to Center in 2024 which would give LSU a ton of positional versatility on the interior offensive line and is why he was such a great target for the Tigers.
LSU can either slot Moore in at center and move DJ Chester back to guard which is his natural position or they can keep Chester at safety for the sake of the quarterback center exchange staying the same.
The Tigers now add an experienced veteran to the offensive line which is massive as LSU will have four new starters playing together for the first time. Ideally, you'd like to see LSU add one more player with experience as you can then allow the freshmen and the returning players to battle it out for two starting roles while having a ton of depth options.
Thus far, LSU has done everything you could've hoped for and more in the transfer portal. Every position that could've been seen as a need has been addressed and the Tigers may not even be done shopping in the transfer portal.
Braelin Moore will have a familiar face on campus given that LSU landed his teammate Mansoor Delane.
