The NFL came calling and Bo Davis is moving on, as LSU loses one of the best defensive line coaches in the Country to the NFL. The New Orleans Saints made the move nabbing the defensive line coach known for sending star defensive linemen to the NFL at an incredible rate leaving a void on the Tigers coaching staff.

The time of the move is less than ideal for Brian Kelly and Blake Baker as LSU is less than two weeks away from the start of Spring practices. It'll be interesting to see what LSU does with the position whether it's making Kevin Peoples the defensive line coach and the edge rushers coach or if LSU looks to poach an assistant elsewhere.

The Tigers got a massive win hiring Bo Davis away from Texas last offseason and just a year later they'll need to fill the void once again. Under Bo Davis Freshmen Dominick McKinley, Ahmad Breaux, and Gabe Reliford showed signs of being future stars which stings as Davis will no longer develop the defensive linemen.

The loss of Bo Davis may hurt LSU the most on the recruiting trail in a crucial 2026 recruiting cycle. The Tigers were heavily pushing for In-State Defensive Linemen Five-Star Lamar Brown, Darryus McKinley, Dylan Berymon, and have Richard Anderson on board all of which were recruited by Bo Davis.

It'll be interesting to see if Bo Davis' departure leads to any players entering the transfer portal this Spring. The Tigers just signed a massive class on the defensive line while bringing in transfer Sydir Mitchell who Davis recruited to Texas and then to LSU.

Over the next few days we'll likely hear quickly who emerges as the top candidate for the job but, it'll be nearly impossible to land a coach on the same level as Bo Davis.
