LSU loses Former Five-Star Da'Shawn Womack and Jordan Allen to the transfer portal
It has been a hectic few weeks for the LSU Football team as the focus shifts from the season to building the roster for the 2025 season and beyond. The Tigers have been taking some bumps on the recruiting trail losing Bryce Underwood, Devin Harper, Jesse Harrold, and Kade Phillips over the past two weeks.
The transfer portal has opened and LSU has lost Rickie Collins, Landon Ibieta, CJ Daniels, as well as the two latest entrants Edge Rusher Da'Shawn Womack and Safety Jordan Allen.
The loss of Da'Shawn Womack may sting the most as he's flashed in limited playing time and could've been a massive piece for the 2025 team. It was hard to get Womack onto the field with how dominant Bradyn Swinson and Sai'vion Jones were this season and the fact that Womack didn't play in the final three games of the season certainly hurt LSU. Given the LSU will now lose Swinson, Womack, and Jones the edge rush position becomes a bigger priority.
Jordan Allen entering the transfer portal is a bit more surprising given that he dealt with injuries this season. Prior to his injury, Allen was starting in or playing in a ton of games for LSU and looked like a likely starter in 2025. The Tigers have a stable of young safeties on board and two coming in this recruiting class but, with playing time at safety opening up its surprising to see LSU lose a player.
The Tigers all in all have lost just one returning starter and a few pieces that could've started next season but, there hasn't been a back breaking or shocking player that has transferred thus far.
