LSU losing to Texas A&M will hurt the Tigers on the recruiting trail
The biggest setback for LSU in terms of losing to Texas A&M is in the race for the SEC and in the race for the College Football Playoff as the Tigers now have two losses one of which is in SEC play. The other area where the loss will set LSU back is on the recruiting trail as the teams will start to use LSU's losses against them. The Texas A&M Aggies had a ton of LSU targets in attendance on Saturday Night and LSU had a few commits at other schools.
The biggest flip concern has been five-star cornerback DJ Pickett who continues to visit Miami and was in attendance as the Hurricanes dominated Florida State. The Tigers will get Pickett back on campus against Alabama but, there's a level of concern when you land a five star recruit like Pickett from out of state.
Five-Star target Jahkeem Stewart was at Ohio State this weekend and while the Buckeye's didn't look too impressive, the Tigers lost this weekend.
As Jahkeem Stewart reclassified, there's a new top recruit in the 2026 recruiting class in interior offensive lineman Lamar Brown. The five-star has visited LSU a ton but, he was in College Station on Saturday Night and he came away with a new top school in his recruitment.
The top 2027 recruit and Louisiana Native Elijah Haven was also in attendance Saturday Night which will give Texas A&M a better shot at Haven in the long run.
Its all a part of having a top recruiting class
The LSU Tigers currently have the Nation's fourth ranked recruiting class in the 2025 recruiting class and you don't get there without landing a few recruits from rivals backyards. Nothing is a certainty until National Signing Day which means LSU has to continue its push until pen meets paper. The Tigers face Alabama next in what will be a game loaded with top recruits on the sideline and an LSU win would build all of that momentum back.
