The LSU Tigers hosted several recruits this weekend during the home opener against Louisiana Tech. Among them was four-star QB recruit Landon Duckworth, who is rated as the No. 6 quarterback and No. 51 overall player in the county for the 2026 class according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Duckworth has been committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks since July, but Brian Kelly and his staff are turning up the heat on Shane Beamer and company in their pursuit of Duckworth.

Landon Duckworth visits LSU for home opener at Tiger Stadium
Hailing from Jackson, AL, Duckworth entered his senior season at Jackson High School with a 33-5 record and has gotten better every year. He has accumulated more than 6.400 yards and 80 touchdowns throughout his high school career. This past June, Duckworth earned a spot at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback is described by 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins as a "dynamic dual-threat signal caller with rare physical tools." In addition to Duckworth's elite throwing ability, Ivins adds that Duckworth is made "for a modern spread attack with his quick release and zone-read talent."
As it stands, LSU does not have a QB commit for the 2026 class. Garrett Nussmeier is gone after this season, and after seeing Bryce Underwood flip to Michigan, LSU remain in pursuit for a quarterback of the future. In the 2026 class, LSU had eyes on Jonas Williams and Bowe Bentley, but couldn't land them as Williams committed to USC and Bentley to Oklahoma.
Despite his commitment to South Carolina, LSU has remained steady in their pursuit of Duckworth. Tiger fans are hoping that his visit to Baton Rouge this weekend made a strong impact on the highly-coveted recruit. LSU is set to host 2027 five-star QB Elijah Haven this weekend for the SEC opener against Florida. Haven hails from Baton Rouge, and is rated as the No. 1 QB in the country for the 2027 class.
