The LSU Football team has been looking to land a quarterback in the 2026 recruiting cycle the past two years. As Bryce Underwood was still committed to LSU, several top 2026 quarterback recruits committed elsewhere with no clear path to playing time. When Underwood flipped to Michigan, it changed LSU's need for a quarterback in the class but, the Tigers didn't have much success and still have a need in this class.
This Winter, Texas native Bowe Bentley emerged as the top quarterback target for LSU as Joe Sloan offered the 4-star recruit jumping into his recruitment. As the recruiting cycle has progressed, the LSU football team has moved into the top group of contenders for Bowe Bentley who named LSU, Oklahoma, and Georgia his Top 3.
Earlier this week, 24/7 Sports predicted that Bowe Bentley would commit to LSU which moved the Tigers one step closer to landing Bowe Bentley but, his latest update only improves LSU's chances.
LSU and Oklahoma face off for elite quarterback recruit Bowe Bentley
On Saturday, Bowe Bentley told On3's Hayes Fawecett that he's down to 2 school in LSU and Oklahoma making this a duel the rest of the recruiting cycle.

The Georgia Bulldogs fall out of the race after landing 5-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis which was good news for LSU and Oklahoma eliminating one top contender.
The LSU Tigers may be able to make the best pitch to Bowe Bentley even though he grew up rooting for the Sooners. The Tigers currently have 3 elite wide receivers committed to the program including the Nation's top wide receiver Tristen Keys and Louisiana's top wide receiver Jabari Mack. The Tigers have also received a prediction to land 5-star offensive lineman Darius Gray and are in the mix for several other elite offensive linemen in this class.
Whoever wins out in the recruitment of Bowe Bentley will likely be the team that does the best when he goes on his official visits this summer. The Tigers will get Bentley on campus for its biggest recruiting weekend of the year with several of the teams top targets and commits making their way to campus.
After the latest recruiting rankings update, Bowe Bentley ranks as the 76th best player in the class, the 7th ranked quarterback, and the 11th ranked player out of Texas according to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings.
