The LSU Football program has been searching for it's long term plan at quarterback on the recruiting trail without a ton of success over the last two recruiting cycles. For nearly the entire 2025 recruiting cycle, LSU couldn't have had a better plan with the Nation's top recruit Bryce Underwood committed to the Tigers. When Underwood flipped late in the recruiting cycle, LSU was unable to land a long term plan at the position.

While Bryce Underwood was committed to LSU, most of the 2026 quarterback recruits came off of the board picking other schools over LSU as there was no clear path to playing time. LSU has tried to flip quarterbacks like Dia Bell and Jonas Williams but, haven't had any success. As of late, Joe Sloan and the staff have circled a quarterback making him their clear top target.

LSU gets projected to land elite quarterback Bowe Bentley

On Thursday Morning, the 24/7 Sports staff placed their Crystal Ball Prediction projecting that the LSU Football program will win out in the recruitment of Quarterback Bowe Bentley. If LSU lands Bowe Bentley, the Tigers would be beating out Oklahoma who's been long seen as the frontrunner for Bentley and Georgia who likely is out of the race after landing 5-star Jared Curtis.

According to the 24/7 Sports composite, Bowe Bentley is the 96th ranked player in the class, the 9th ranked quarterback, and the 13th ranked player out of Texas.

This season for Celina, Bentley completed 70% of his passes for 3,330 yards and 47 touchdowns while picking up another 933 yards and 16 touchdowns with his legs. Bowe Bentley has dual threat ability which should be attractive to offensive coordinator Joe Sloan after Jayden Daniels Heisman level of success in the same offense. Under Brian Kelly, the Tigers best rushing attack has been with the quarterback which makes landing a dual threat quarterback the most ideal.

LSU is expected to get Bowe Bentley on campus June 20th-22nd for an official visit which is the last of his three planned visits. Typically, you land the quarterback and he helps recruit everyone else but, in this class LSU has done the opposite. The Tigers having an elite wide receiver class with Tristen Keys, Jabari Mack, and Kenny Darby on board only helps LSU when trying to land Bowe Bentley.
