This weekend all the Tigers could do is watch and hope that they could move up in the AP and Coaches Polls as they're going to need some help to make the College Football Playoff. The Tigers need to knock off Alabama if they're going to make the College Football Playoff but, they also needed some help around the country to further make their case.

There were some upsets around the country which helped a ton of contending teams along with the picture in the ACC and the Big ten becoming a little clearer.

The Associated Press released their latest AP Poll and the Tigers moved up to 14th after being ranked 16th last weekend.

The Tigers were helped greatly by Clemson, Texas A&M, and Iowa State losing as the Tigers moved ahead of all three schools inching closer to that top 12 you'd like to see LSU in. The only team that jumped LSU is SMU who knocked off Pittsburgh this weekend putting them in a great spot to play in the ACC Championshop game.

The Tigers have a great chance to move up in the rankings this week as the Tigers will take on the 11th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

LSU can continue to move up but, it'll need to be because they won

The Tigers will certainly get some help as team's ahead of LSU will face each other but, if LSU is going to make it into the Playoff race it needs to be on their own accord. The Tigers can't lose the rest of the way if they're going to make the College Football Playoff and along the way they'll face 11th ranked Alabama and 24th ranked Vanderbilt. LSU has a great chance to make the College Football Playoff if they're able to handle their own business.
