The transfer portal is in full swing as hundreds of College Football players have announced their intentions to transfer ahead of the transfer portal opening on December 9th. The LSU Tigers have lost two players thus far as Quarterback Rickie Collins and Wide Receiver Landon Ibieta announced their plans to move on.

Where LSU fans are excited however is at the fact that Brian Kelly announced that the LSU Football team will be aggressive in the transfer portal this season after mostly sitting out the process last year aside from some smaller additions.

"We will be very aggressive. We weren't in the transfer portal last year. Put together a Defensive Line with minimal resources. We stayed, to use a term loosely, well under the cap. We're also bringing in 16 mid-years (Freshmen) and maybe the largest transfer portal class as well."

One of the positions LSU will need to be aggressive in the portal for is Wide Receivers. The Tigers have three commitments at the position currently but, Derek Meadows is expected to flip to Alabama. Given that LSU will lose Kyren Lacy and Landon Ibieta along with any other departures that may come, LSU will need to add receivers just to keep the numbers in the room the same.

A few top end wide receivers have entered the transfer portal like Kevin Concepcion who will likely be a one year starter and Micah Hudson who could be a multiple year player. Hudson was a five star recruit in last year's recruiting class and after a season at Texas Tech where he caught eight passes for 123 yards he's looking for a new home.

The five star wide receiver will have a massive market to choose from but, according to Rivals, LSU is one of the top contenders for Hudson.

It will be hard for LSU to lure the Texas Native away from Texas especially as the Longhorns pushed to land him last season. Where LSU can make the best pitch is with its wide receiver development, as Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr all dominate the NFL.

The Tigers also can point to the fact that they will have only signed two wide receivers while a starting role is opening which gives him a clear path to playing time. If Garrett Nussmeier returns, Hudson will have the chance to play with the SEC's leading passer which further solidifies their pitch.
