The Transfer Portal officially opens a week from Today meaning that players will be able to officially start the process of finding their next school as soon as next week. Despite the transfer portal not being officially open, that hasn't stopped hundreds of players from announcing their plans to enter the portal next week. LSU saw its first loss on Sunday when Quarterback Rickie Collins announced his intentions of entering the transfer portal.

On Monday, LSU gets news of a second expected departure as Redshirt Sophomore Wide Receiver Landon Ibieta is going to transfer out of LSU.

The decision doesn't come as a shock as Ibieta has dealt with injuries that have put him behind the eight ball while at LSU. Ibieta impressed at points this Summer but, in a loaded Wide Receiver room earning playing time was always going to be difficult.

The Tigers can return CJ Daniels, Aaron Anderson, Chris Hilton Jr, Zavion Thomas, Kyle Parker, Shelton Sampson Jr, Kylan Billiot, and Jelani Watkins among others which means we may see a few other receivers that haven't earned playing time enter the transfer portal.

In this upcoming class we'll see LSU most likely sign two wide receivers both from Louisiana while Derek Meadows seems most likely to flip to Alabama.

Overall, LSU likely won't lose a ton to the transfer portal aside from depth pieces who are blocked from playing next season. The Tigers losing some of these pieces is expected and it allows them to sign such a big recruiting class as well as giving the Tigers the ability to actively pursue transfers who can make an impact next season.
