It's officially December 9th meaning the Transfer Portal is open which will lead to players moving all over the Country to find their new program. Players have already started their process by announcing their intentions to transfer in the week between the end of the season which will cut down on a ton of news.

One of the positional needs that LSU needs to address via the transfer portal is at edge rusher. The Tigers will lose the production of Bradyn Swinson who recorded 8.5 sacks and Sai'Vion Jones who recorded 4.5 sacks. The Tigers also need to replace Da'Shawn Womack who could've been a potential answer to the void but, he entered the Transfer Portal.

One player to keep an eye on is Nebraska Edge Rusher Jimari Butler who named LSU one of his three finalists late on Sunday Night.

This season, Butler had a down season recording two sacks but, in 2023 he recorded 5.5 sacks. Butler has one year of eligibility remaining and will pick between Florida State, LSU, and Texas A&M.

One factor that may play a massive role in this is that if Jimari Butler chooses to follow his defensive coordinator, he'll go to Florida State as Tony White joined the Seminoles as the Defensive Coordinator the same role he served at Nebraska.

The pitch that LSU can make is that Kevin Peoples has a proven track record and can be the best for his development. Before this season, Bradyn Swinson had 5 sacks across four seasons, with Kevin Peoples coaching the edge rushers Swinson made the jump to an 8.5 sack season and now will be at worst a Day Two pick in the NFL Draft.

It'll be interesting to see how soon LSU lands transfers and what type of player they pursue but, Brian Kelly said the Tigers are going to be aggresive in the Transfer Portal this offseason.
