All of the latest news around the LSU Football team's efforts to build out the 2026 recruiting class while building the 2027 recruiting class. This weekend, LSU hosted Wide Receiver Commit Kenny Darby as Out of State schools push for the Louisiana star. The Tigers also extended several offers to elite recruits in the 2026 and 2027 classes as the staff builds out their recruiting boards.
One of the latest offers comes as Joe Sloan and the LSU Staff extended a scholarship offer to 2026 tight end Luke Sorenson.

As things currently stand, Luke Sorensen is a Three-Star Tight End ranked as the 54th tight end in the class and the 140th ranked player out of California according to 24/7 Sports. It's intriguing to note that the scholarship offer was given by offensive coordinator Joe Sloan as LSU is still searching for a tight ends coach as Slade Nagle left for Houston.
This weekend, Sorensen also made his way to Baton Rouge and the staff must've liked the conversation as he now joins the list of players LSU is pushing for.
The Tight End position is one that we'll see LSU make a strong push for in the 2026 recruiting class after the Tigers activity this offseason. The Tigers brought in two veteran transfers in Bauer Sharp and Donovan Green after losing Mason Taylor, Ka'Morreun Pimpton, and Mac Markway since the start of the season.
Given that Donovan Green and Bauer Sharp both may leave Baton Rouge before the 2026 recruiting class joins the team, LSU will once again be in the market for Tight Ends. If Trey'Dez Green takes the jump everyone expects he will, he'll be a player that is gone after his Junior season which means the Tigers will need to add several long term options to the room.
