The LSU Football team is going to need to be active in the transfer portal at a few different places. One of those positions is wide receiver as LSU will need to replace starters Kyren Lacy and CJ Daniels while they lose Shelton Sampson Jr and Landon Ibieta to the transfer portal. In this recruiting class, LSU only signed two wide receivers so the Tigers will need to at least add a player or two for numbers sake.
We've seen LSU linked to several wide receivers early on including Texas Tech's Micah Hudson, Oklahoma's Nic Anderson, and Kentucky's Barion Brown. Barion Brown was the first of the three to plan and take a visit to LSU which put the Tigers in a great place to land Kentucky's Elite Wide Receiver.
Coming off of his two-day visit to Baton Rouge, On3's Pete Nakos, Steve Wiltfong, and Shea Dixon have placed their expert predictions for LSU to land Barion Brown.
Landing Brown would give LSU an elite talent at wide receiver to pair with Aaron Anderson and the other returning wide receivers.
Brown is a classic case of the stats not telling the full story as this season has been a down year for Brown as he has just 29 catches for 361 yards and three touchdowns but, he hasn't had the best quarterback play over the past two seasons. Where Brown makes the biggest impact is by being able to do a little bit of everything as scored receiving, rushing, and kick return touchdowns over his three years at Kentucky.
The positional versatility for LSU in the wide receiver room will be incredible as Aaron Anderson, Barion Brown, and Zavion Thomas can do everything which will make the Tigers tough to guard.
The Tigers are still pursuing Nic Anderson from Oklahoma and he'd be incredible to add to this group due to his size as LSU could desperately use a receive with Anderson's 6 foot 4 frame on the outside with the wide receiver group being made up of smaller players.
We'll see if LSU is able to close the deal with Brown and players like Ja'Keem Jackson, Luke Hasz, Will Heldt, Zechariah Poyser, and Kameron Olds.
