This weekend the LSU Football team is on the road which means that the Tigers won't be hosting any recruits as the Early Signing Period rapidly approaches. The Tigers can still impress recruits that will watch the game from home as well as the massive group of recruits that will be at Florida this weekend.
One of those recruits that was supposed to be Five-Star Cornerback DJ Pickett who was going to visit In-State Florida with LSU playing the Gators. That is no longer the case as Pickett changed his plans on Saturday and will instead visit the Georgia Bulldogs as they take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
The News comes as a little bit of a surprise as Pickett has visited Florida, Miami, and LSU this season while Georgia hasn't gotten a visit. The visit shouldn't be a massive concern for LSU as both In-State Florida schools are a much bigger threat to flip Pickett than Georgia is. When Pickett committed he chose LSU over Miami and Oregon and given Oregon's NIL its great news he hasn't made his way to Eugene.
Pickett did consider Georgia however, and he still has relationships there especially as Travaris Robinson left Alabama to Coach at Georgia as Pickett visited Nick Saban's staff.
No reason to panic about a potential flip
Even LSU fans are willing to admit that being on the sideline for Georgia Vs Tennessee in a Playoff determining game is a better experience than visiting Florida who's struggling against LSU in a game without a ton of meaning. The Tigers have done an excellent job recruiting DJ Pickett and the fact that LSU has held off Miami should put everyone at ease. Pickett has always said that he wants to play for Corey Raymond and the fact that LSU will get him on Campus for the Oklahoma game right before signing day should tell you all you need to know.
