LSU women's basketball is in the thick of an exciting season, and three names are leading the charge: Flau'Jae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Mikaylah Williams. As the No. 5 Tigers sit at a 25-1 record, their success is largely due to the star power and relentless energy of these three standout players. With just five games left before the SEC Tournament, let's dive into what makes them the heart of this championship-contending squad.
Flau'Jae Johnson: A Scoring Machine
Flau'Jae Johnson has been on an absolute tear this season. Her scoring average has surged from 14.9 points per game (PPG) last season to 19.6 PPG, making her LSU's leading scorer. Johnson has been remarkably consistent, scoring in double figures in 35 consecutive games and dropping 20+ points in 17 of her last 29 outings.

She's not just a scoring threat but also proving to be a well-rounded force. With four double-double this season and four games with at least 25 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, she is doing it all for LSU. Her performance habe not gone unnoticed, as she's on the late-season top-20 watchlist for the John R. Wooden Award and the USBWA's midseason list for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Player of the Year Award. Simply put, Johnson is walking highlight reel and a key factor in LSU's championship aspirations.
Aneesah Morrow: Dominance in the Paint
Morrow has developed into one of the most dominant post players in the country. Averaging 18.2 points and 14.2 rebounds per game, she leads the nation with 23 double-doubles and 14 rebounds per contest. What's even more impressive? She competes against taller forwards and still dominates, using her best skills to control the glass.
Morrow recently reached an incredible milestone, becoming just the eighth player n NCAA DI history to record at least 2,500 points and 1,500 rebounds in her career. With 1,598 career rebounds (the fifth-most in DI history), she's a rebounding machine who is nearly unstoppable. She's also the only player in the nation with multiple 20/20 games this season, securing at least 20 points and 20 rebounds twice. Her ability to crash the boards has come in handy putting LSU as the top rebounding team in the country.
Mikaylah Williams: A Rising Star
Not to be outdone, freshman sensation Mikaylah Williams has also been turning heads. She's just 66 points away from reaching 1,000 points for her career, and she's making every bucket count.

In her breakout performance against No. 13 Oklahoma, scoring 37 points in LSU's 107-100 victory. Her stat line? Seven made three-pointers, seven rebounds, and five assists. She followed that up with a 22-point performance against Mississippi State, shooting 50% from the floor in their classy win. LSU has a wealth of offensive weapons and William's potential to explode offensively on any given night gives Tigers their fair advantage.
As March Madness looms, expect this trio to keep making headlines. Meanwhile, LSU is caught in a three-way tie for first place in the SEC alongside South Carolina and Texas with all eyes on Johnson, Morrow and Williams once again.
