The full attention of LSU's staff has turned toward building the 2026 recruiting class up. The class currently ranks 4th Nationally and Second in the SEC trailing only Tennessee with six commitments currently. While LSU has been busy offering recruits and building out its recruiting boards, the staff also needs to keep the commitments they've already gained on board.
Last cycle we saw LSU was vulnerable to flips losing Dakorien Moore, Bryce Underwood, Devin Harper, Jaboree Antoine, Kade Phillips, Derek Meadows, Mike Tyler, and LaJesse Harrold down the stretch.
As LSU's 2026 cycle comes into full swing, the Tigers will host a commit that's already on board in Wide Receiver Kenny Darby.
Darby committed to LSU back in November after visiting for the Alabama game shortly after he reopened his recruitment decommitting from Mississippi State. Darby has stated that his recruitment is still 100% open as he continues to pick up interest after a massive season leading Louisiana with 100 catches for 1,764 yards, and 24 touchdowns.
The Wide Receiver positions is one LSU has to pursue this recruiting cycle after only signing two wide receivers last cycle. Darby is one of two Wide Receiver commitments LSU has landed early on along with fellow four-star Jakai Anderson.
LSU's best success has come with recruiting and developing In-State Wide Receivers which is why keeping Darby on board this cycle is massive especially as he starts to emerge as a top wide receiver recruit. The Tigers are also pushing for the top wide receiver in Louisiana according to On3 in Jabari Mack out of Destrehan who's a Top 100 recruit in the 2026 class. If LSU is able to lock down the State brining in Jabari Mack, Kenny Darby, and Jakai Anderson, that would be a great recruiting class and a solid foundation at Wide Receiver.
