After LSU got the news that starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier would comeback for one more season on Wednesday, there was hope that LSU could also get back its starting Right Tackle Emery Jones Jr who was also figuring out his decision between his Senior season and the NFL. On Thursday, Emery Jones Jr came to a decision deciding to pass up his Senior season and declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jones leaves LSU alongside his counterpart Will Campbell after the duo came in as true freshmen and became cornerstones on LSU's offensive line. The LSU Football program has never had an offensive tackle selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, in Campbell and Jones, LSU has the potential of having two selected in the first round in one season.
Emery Jones is currently ranked by Mel Kiper Jr as the 8th offensive lineman in the NFL Draft but, his experience playing tackle and on the right side could be a key factor in his draft stock.
The Baton Rouge Native leaves LSU with a resume filled with achievements as he was twice a Second Team All SEC offensive tackle.
Now LSU has to replace four of five starting offensive linemen with Will Campbell, Emery Jones, Miles Frazier, and Garrett Dellinger off to the NFL. The Tigers will return DJ Chester with starting experience while Paul Mubenga and Tyree Adams saw a ton of playing time this season.
LSU brings in three elite offensive linemen in this recruiting class in Solomon Thomas, Tyler Miller. and Carius Curne who could start as true freshmen. The Tigers however, should test the transfer portal to see if they can add some experience to the offensive line as the group won't have a ton of experience heading into 2025.
