The 2025 NFL Draft has officially arrived, and by the end of Thursday night, 32 college football standouts will have their dreams realized as first-round picks. The LSU Football program will be celebrated fairly early as Will Campbell is expected to be a Top-10 selection, while many are pointing to him being the 4th overall pick to the New England Patriots. While Will Campbell is certainly a first round pick, the LSU Football team could find a second player making his way into the first round.

As the NFL Draft has approached, Mason Taylor is gaining a ton of buzz and could hear his name called at the end of the first round. The buzz has come from the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles have been shopping veteran tight end Dallas Goedert as he enters the final season of his contract. The rumors led NFL Network's Charles Davis to project Mason Taylor will be the 32nd overall pick in the Draft.

The Eagles gives the LSU Tight End a clear potential landing spot but, there are several landing spots much sooner for Taylor. According to Diana Russini of The Athletic, the Rams will be considering a tight end with the 26th Overall Pick after missing out on Brock Bowers last season.

"Expect the Rams to once again show interest in a tight end in the first round. Last year, Los Angeles tried — and failed — to move up to select Brock Bowers. I’m told Sean McVay and Les Snead could once again try to move up to get their guy"

The Washington Commanders are another potential destination for Mason Taylor with the 29th Overall Pick. The Commanders resigned Zach Ertz this offseason but, as the team looks to get younger, they could reunite Jayden Daniels and Mason Taylor. The two already have a ton of chemistry and Taylor can help the team alongside Ertz before becoming the full-time starter.

Other potential destinations in the back half of the draft include the Chargers, the Chiefs, and the Bengals.

Whoever selects Mason Taylor is getting an instant-impact player with an NFL background. As a Freshman, Taylor quickly proved he was up to the task in the SEC as LSU's starting tight end, a role he held for three seasons. Taylor's ability as a receiver stands out even considering the fact that he was under utilized at LSU but, his improvement as a blocker will allow him to make an impact right away.

While many may be surprised if Mason Taylor's name is called in the first round, all the signs are pointing toward a last second surge for LSU's All Time leading tight end.
