Interim head coach Frank Wilson picked up his first win as the leader of the LSU Football program last week with a 23-22 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks. It was an emotional win for Wilson, who has been engrained in football in the state of Louisiana throughout his entire life. Wilson is looking to lead the Tigers to a strong finish to what has been a tumultuous season in Baton Rouge. That effort continues in Week 13 as LSU battles Western Kentucky in the final home game at Tiger Stadium this season.

Latest Lane Kiffin curveball has got to be infuriating for LSU fans everywhere

Western Kentucky is 8-2 on the season and is on track to play in the CUSA Championship game. The Tigers and Hilltoppers have met twice before, with LSU winning both matchups in 2011 and 2015. LSU is the only Power Four team that WKU will face this season. As kick-off draws nearer, here is a look at the updated LSU vs WKU betting odds as well as a score prediction.

LSU vs Western Kentucky prediction

Garrett Nussmeier has been ruled out due to his lingering abdominal injury, which means that Michael Van Buren will be making his second consecutive start and first career start at Tiger Stadium. Van Buren has been impressive thus far, as he threw for 221 yards and rushed for 36 yards in last week's win over Arkansas. Most importantly, he has yet to turn the ball over this season.

LSU has yet to score more than 25 points against an FBS opponent this season, but this could be the game where that changes. WKU is allowing 23.1 points per game this season, but they have yet to face an opponent from the Group of Four. Van Buren brings a more dynamic element to the Tiger offense, as his athleticism and elusiveness gives the Hilltoppers plenty to worry about. Harlem Berry is also emerging as a steady contributor in the ground game, and he should be in the mix early and often.

The Hilltoppers know how to put up points, though. WKU leads CUSA by scoring 31.3 points per game and averaging 432.9 yards of total offense per game. The LSU defense has been solid, but don't be surprised if WKU has at least a little success offensively. But in the end, LSU should be able to take care of business.

Score prediction: LSU wins 38-21
