The College Football Playoff field is set and the Bowl Game matchups for the Non-College Football Playoff Bowls are being set. The LSU Tigers will head to Houston, Texas to take on the Baylor Bears in the Kinder's Texas Bowl.

The matchup against Baylor pits LSU against a familiar face in Baylor Head Coach Dave Aranda. The Baylor Head Coach spent three seasons in Baton Rouge serving roles as the Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers Coach, and Associate Head Coach. Aranda was the architect of the 2019 LSU Defense and a key part in the Tigers winning the National Championship.

The Baylor Bears went 8-4 this season and Aranda went from on the hot seat to being safe in his job as Baylor's Head Coach. The Bears have been lead by their offense which scores 34.7 points per game which ranks 24th in the Country. While Aranda is at the helm, the defense has struggled allowing 25.3 points per game which ranks 70th in the Country.

Given that LSU has had a few players declare for the NFL Draft and 10 players announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal we likely won't know what the roster looks like until we're closer to the game.

As an LSU fan while you'll want to see LSU win the game, you also hope that the Tigers play some of the younger players who'll be key pieces next season getting some playing time. One of the positions we'll see a ton of fresh faces is at wide receiver as Kyren Lacy heads to the NFL Draft while CJ Daniels and Shelton Sampson Jr have entered their names into the transfer portal.

The game will be played on New Years' Eve at 2:30 PM in the Houston Texans Stadium NRG Stadium.
