As of late, the good news has been pouring in for the LSU Football Program on the recruiting trail despite the recruiting dead period being in effect. On Thursday, LSU landed elite In-State offensive tackle Brysten Martinez which gave LSU the Nation's 3rd ranked recruiting class and the top class in the SEC.

The latest news has been filled with the Tigers landing inside of top recruits finalists groups while landing official visits with several other top recruits set to visit Baton Rouge. One of the latest recruits to schedule their official visit to Baton Rouge is Texas native Donovan Webb who will visit LSU on March 20th.

When the recruiting rankings are updated, Donovan Webb will likely fly up the recruiting rankings as his Junior season led to a flood of offers from some of the Nation's best schools. Rivals ranks Donovan Webb as the 138th ranked player in the class, the third best safety in the class, and the 19th best player out of Texas.

While Donovan Webb is ranked as a defensive back, the LSU Football team may envision him on the other side of the football as Cortez Hankton LSU's Wide Receivers coach offered Donovan Webb in January.

When LSU gets Donovan Webb on campus, it'll be interesting to see which position LSU recruits him at as Cornerback and Wide Receiver will likely be bigger positions of need for the Tigers rather than safety.

In this recruiting class, LSU already has one of the top safeties on board in Aiden Hall and two of the State's best wide receivers in Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson. LSU still has elite talents to reel in with In-State Five Star Blaine Bradford at safety and Jabari Mack but, the cornerback class is more in question for the Tigers as there aren't any top prospects In-State which could lead to Webb playing cornerback.
