While this weekend will be massive for LSU because the football team hosts College Gameday and Alabama and the Basketball teams will play their first games of the season its a massive weekend for Matt McMahon for a different reason. This weekend, Matt McMahon will only host one recruit but, its the most important recruit in this cycle for the program.

Chris Cenac is the Nation's 5th ranked recruit, the 2nd ranked Power Forward, and the top ranked player in Missouri. The state of Missouri is where Cenac plays his High School basketball in Missouri but, he's originally a New Orleans native.

LSU is in Cenac's final seven but, they're up against some of the biggest schools in the Country right now in Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Houston, Baylor, and Auburn. The biggest threats to beat LSU out right now are Tennessee and Houston but, there are a few things going for LSU right now.

The Tigers will get the final visit before Early Signing Day and its possible that a great official visit could lead to Chris Cenac signing with LSU. The Tigers can also pitch their 11th ranked recruiting class and the fact that McMahon has a ton of talented guards on board that can help elevate Cenac's game.

Landing Chris Cenac can do a ton for both Matt McMahon and for the LSU Basketball program. The Alabama Basketball program had a similar situation a few years ago when they landed Brandon Miller and Nate Oats' program quickly became one of the most attractive programs for top recruits and transfers.

Matt McMahon has to land Chris Cenac

The LSU Basketball Program is entering this season with the expectation of finishing at or near the bottom of the SEC. That expectation has to change in the near future otherwise LSU is going to have to make a change in leadership. The easiest way to change the outlook of the program is by landing eliet recruits like McMahon has this cycle but, McMahon needs that elite talent like Chris Cenac to do so.
