When asked if he thinks there is a future for him at LSU, Van Buren said "absolutely." The Tiger QB told media members that he loves LSU and sees himself staying at LSU to play for the next coaching staff.

In addition to stating his love for LSU, Van Buren said that his goal right now is to continue getting better. He said that the reps with the first team are helping him improve all aspects of his game as the team aims to end the season on a high note.

Van Buren has been thrust into the starting QB role due to Garrett Nussmeier's lingering abdominal injury. If Nussmeier is unable to go this Saturday against WKU, Van Buren will be in line to start his second consecutive game. The Mississippi State transfer led LSU to a 23-22 victory over Arkansas in his starting debut by throwing for 221 yards and a touchdown while also adding 36 yards on the ground.

Van Buren has performed well this season, completing 67.2% of his passes for 445 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions on the season. Most importantly, he hasn't turned the ball over yet this season. Kick-off between the Tigers and Hilltoppers is set for 6:45 p.m. CT this Saturday night at Tiger Stadium.
