LSU's biggest pitch to recruits on the offensive side of the football was the fact that every player would get to play alongside the Nation's best player Bryce Underwood. Michigan's Massive NIL Push for Bryce Underwood resulted in the Tigers losing that superpower and the loss of Brye Underwood may be the first domino to fall.
Last week Derek Meadows was projected to flip from LSU to Notre Dame, after Underwood's flip from LSU, the Tigers will likely still lose Derek Meadows but, it's now the Wolverines expected to swoop in.
Meadows hasn't been on a recruiting visit to Baton Rouge since committing and he was at Michigan a few weekends ago. When the Alabama game weekend rolled around, and Meadows was visiting Notre Dame over LSU when everyone was on campus alarms started to go off.
It was a surprise when Meadows committed to LSU as everyone was expecting he'd land at Notre Dame or Alabama. After Meadows' visit to Notre Dame he was expected to land with the Irish but, Michigan flipping Bryce Underwood has changed everything.
Losing Meadows would deal a blow to this recruiting class as he's a top 100 recruit according to On3's Industry Recruiting rankings. Losing Meadows would drop LSU down to just two wide receiver commits in the class which would mean they'll need to scramble to land one more or they'll need to hunt in the transfer portal. The loss would mark the third recruit that LSU has seen flip from LSU after the loss to Florida.
Where does LSU go from here?
The Tigers built an incredible recruiting class but, down the stretch, things have started to fall apart. As Early Signing Day is just two weeks away, LSU now has to scramble to replace Underwood along with any other pieces that may flip. If you're Brian Kelly and the staff, you have to make a strong push looking to flip any elite recruits that you can along with landing Jahkeem Stewart to save some face after the loss of Underwood.
