Lane Kiffin's first week on the job as LSU's head coach has been a busy one. After being officially introduced as LSU's head coach on Monday, Kiffin has spent the week reconstructing LSU's 2026 recruiting class.
Lamar Brown Update: 5-star DL still unsigned and LSU fans are worried sick
Kiffin has flipped three commits from Ole Miss to LSU, and has been able to hang on to Tiger commits who signed on Wednesday. Kiffin's early moves have LSU trending in the right direction when it comes to updated recruiting rankings.
According to Rivals, LSU's 2026 recruiting class is ranked as the No. 10 class in the country following the Early Signing Period opening up on Wednesday. It's a good sign to see LSU crack the top-10 despite holdouts from top recruits such as 5-star prospect Lamar Brown.

LSU fans anxiously awaiting Lamar Brown updates
Last season, Brian Kelly brought in the No. 7 recruiting class in the country. As Kiffin continues building his roster for his first season in Baton Rouge, Tiger fans are anxious to see what else Kiffin has in store.
Right now, his first priority is to make things official with No. 1 overall prospect Lamar Brown. Brown's agent says that he is still "committed" to LSU, but is delaying making it official for the time being. The Early Signing Period is open until Friday, so if Brown doesn't sign by then he will have to wait until February.
Texas A&M and Miami (FL) remain in hot pursuit of his services, but Tiger fans are hoping he stays on board. Securing Brown's official commitment would see LSU continue to move up in the recruiting rankings.
Missing out on Brown could prove to be very costly for Kiffin and LSU. Brown is a local product hailing from right down the road at University Lab in Baton Rouge. He has been committed to LSU since July 10, and seeing him go elsewhere would not do Kiffin any favors with the Tiger fan base as he looks to build the LSU Football program back up to National Championship contention.
