The LSU Tigers suffered yet another loss on Saturday night, falling to the 4th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 20-9. It was yet another disappointing effort from LSU, who was hoping to start the Frank Wilson era with an upset win. Wilson now might have a quarterback controversy on his hands, as Garrett Nussmeier was benched in favor if Michael Van Buren Jr against Alabama.

But no matter who QB1 is this week against Arkansas, LSU is slated to be without WR Nic Anderson, who suffered a knee injury on Saturday night.
Aaron Anderson injury update
According to On3, the current fear is that Anderson suffered a season-ending knee injury on Saturday night against Alabama. The injury occurred late in the 3rd quarter, and Anderson needed help getting off the field before heading to the locker room. Anderson is set to undergo an MRI on Sunday night before a further update is provided. He had 2 catches for 32 yards before going down with the injury.
If the injury does prove to be season-ending, Anderson will miss LSU's final 3 games against Arkansas, Western Kentucky, and Oklahoma, as well as a potential bowl game. LSU's matchup against Oklahoma to close the regular season woud've given Anderson a chance to go up against his former team.
Anderson came to Baton Rouge after 2 seasons at Oklahoma. He set a Sooner program record with 10 touchdown receptions during his freshman season in 2023. He put together 3 100-yard games, and missed all but one game in 2024 due to injury. Anderson left Norman with 31 catches for 798 yards before heading to LSU.
He joined an LSU offense that had high hopes for 2025. After Nussmeier threw for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns last season, Anderson was looking to bring even more depth to a talented WR room in Baton Rouge. On the season, Anderson ranks 7th on the Tigers with 12 catches for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
