This week was an up and down weekend for the LSU Football team as it gained a top-100 recruit in it's 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of top-100 recruit edge rusher La Jesse Harrold and gained two commitments in its 2026 recruiting class with commitments from Rich Anderson and Jakai Anderson. The recruiting class took a hit however when LSU lost in-state star Jaboree Antoine who re-opened his recruitment on Sunday Night.

Another SEC Program had a rocky start to the week as Ole Miss lost three recruits in it's 2025 signing class with Jerome Myles, Corey Amos, and Dillon Alfred all decommitting while Lane Kiffin continued his twitter war with Antonio Brown.

Corey Amos is a Louisiana star at Opelousas as an elite edge rusher in this class. On3's industry rankings rate Amos as the 13th-ranked player in the state and the 40th-best edge rusher in the class.

As the LSU Football team needs commitments on the defensive side of the football who better to target over an in-state recruit? Currently, the LSU Football team holds commitments from seven players in Louisiana while this recruiting class holds just three commitments from defensive players.

Defensive Reinforcements badly needed for LSU

As LSU's defense has dropped from the National Championship level over the past few seasons, the program needs to recruit at a high level defensively. Having just three defensive commitments with Keylan Moses looking like a potential flip candidate is highly concerning at this stage of the recruiting cycle. The next few weeks could see LSU land some help defensively while if these recruitments go sideways, LSU will be in bad shape this fall.
