Today's matchup between the LSU Football team and the South Carolina has picked up a ton of buzz as everyone is predicting a dogfight between the Gamecocks and the Tigers. The Gamecocks are coming off of a massive win against Kentucky and College Gameday returns to Colombia for the 1st time in ten years.

The expectation for this game is that each team finishes in the 20s for points in what could be a struggle fest for both offenses. The Gamecocks have fielded an impressive defense but, their offense has been very one-dimensional. The close game that everyone is predicting is directly in line with how the oddsmakers project this game will play out.

Here are the official odds for the game as of Saturday Morning:

The Line: LSU - 6

The Total: 48.5 Points

The line projects that this game will be a one-possession game which is much closer than any LSU fan would prefer. The total has these teams struggling to score which wouldn't be great for LSU as the Tigers have struggled to run the football and are better suited to win in a shootout.

Why LSU will win this football game

All of the talk heading into this game is about how impressive South Carolina's edge rushers are but, are people forgetting that LSU has two first-round picks at tackle? The offensive line is yet to give up a sack and Joe Sloan can turn to the quick game to further eliminate USC's front four. Defensively, the biggest question marks for LSU have been in the secondary as Blake Baker is still looking for someone to take over at cornerback and safety. LaNorris Sellers hasn't proven that he can beat a team with his arm and considering South Carolina runs the ball 70.5% of the time, LSU shouldn't give up too many big plays.
