LSU has had a lot of great players go through thier men's basketball program. Some most notable players are "Pistol" Pete Maravich, who up until this past season held the NCAA scoring record until Caitlin Clark broke it this season, Shaquille O'Neal, and Bob Pettit, all NBA Hall of Famers.

The Tigers have had a total of 54 players go to the NBA with 12 current active players. Now some players had great careers in college that did not seem to translate to the NBA, but for players like O'Neal, Maravich, and Pettit, their skills in college transferred to the pros.

So looking at the LSU greats, who had the best NBA careers? Well, let's take a look and rank them based on each of their pro careers.

2016 - present. Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets. LSU NBA. . . Ben Simmons. 6. player. 529. Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons is the only player on this list that is still active in the NBA. Simmons goes down as the second player in LSU basketball history to be drafted No. 1 overall in the NBA draft, second to NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal.

While Simmons's career has been a little up and down and during his eight-year career he hasn't played in two seasons due to injury and a holdout, his numbers still don't lie. I am not going to talk about his three-point shot because we all know he did not hit his first three-pointer till his fifth season in the league, his fourth season playing.

Overall though, Simmons is averaging 14.4 points per game with a 56% field goal percentage. He also averages 7.8 rebounds a game and 7.4 assists per game. his three-point shot of course is non-existent, but his stats do speak for themselves over eight years.
