Bob Pettit was the first former LSU player to make it to the NBA Hall of Fame. Pettit was drafted by the Milwaukee Hawks in 1954 which a season later became the St. Louis Hawks. Pettit had an amazing career as a power forward, and even center for two seasons.

In his rookie season, Pettit averaged 36.9 minutes on the court with 20.4 points per game, 3.2 assists, and 13.8 rebounds. He earned himself NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA First Team, and was an All-Star. Things only went up from there.

In his second season, Pettit led the league averaging 25.7 points per game and after winning Rookie of the Year in his first season, followed it up by winning MVP in his second. Pettit also upped his stats in year two with 16.2 rebounds per game.

The only season that beat out Pettit's second year was his fifth where he led the league again in points per game, but this time he outdid his year two numbers with 29.2 points per game. He won MVP in his fifth season as well.

Pettit was named NBA First Team in every season except for his last in the league when he was named NBA Second Team, He was also an All-Star every year in his career. He finished his career in 1965 averaging 26.4 points per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 16.2 rebounds per game. All stats are worthy of being in the Hall of Fame.
