"Pistol" Pete Maravich is one of LSU's most known players mostly for playing under his father at LSU and holding the NCAA all-time scoring record, which women's basketball player Caitlin Clark surpasses this season.

Maravich was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 1970 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, he played in all 81 games averaging 23.2 points per game, 4.4 assists, and 3.7 rebounds. He came in third in Rookie of the Year voting.

After spending four years with the Hawks, averaging as much as 27.7 points per game in his final season, Maravich decided to head to New Orleans to play for what was the Jazz. Maravich's time with the Jazz was his most memorable as the best years of his career were with that team. His third year with the Jazz, Maravich led the league in points per game with 31.3 earning his third place in MVP voting. He was also named to the NBA First Team and al All-Star that season.

Maravich was with the Jazz when they made the transition out to Utah, but by then in his career, his stats were declining by his standards. Maravich still averaged 17.2 points per game, but that was a far cry from his normal numbers. After his time with the Jazz, Maravich spent his final season of his career with the Boston Celtics.

Throughout his career, Maravich averaged 24.2 points per game, 5.4 assists per game, and 4.2 rebounds per game. Maravich was the second LSU Tiger to be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.
