This offseason has been hands down some of the best work of the transfer portal and recruiting that we've ever seen in college baseball by LSU Head Coach Jay Johnson. After landing the Nation's top recruiting class, Jay Johnson has done an incredible job getting his recruits on campus getting projected early draft picks Derek Curiel, William Schmidt, and Cade Arrambide to pull their names out of the MLB to attend LSU.

Heading into Day Three, the LSU Baseball team got solid news as Michael Braswell announced he'd be returning to LSU bolstering the infield depth. The biggest news came a little later, however, as first baseman Jared Jones announced he'd be returning to LSU for his third year.

Jared Jones' return gives LSU one of the best first basemen in the country while also giving Jay Johnson a true top of the lineup power hitter. After losing Tommy White to the MLB Draft, Jared Jones will be leaned on as the team's top power hitter after blasting 28 home runs in 2024. It came as a shock that Jared Jones wasn't selected on Day Two of the MLB Draft but, Jay Johnson won't complain about coaching Jared Jones for one more season.

There's no roster that is top to bottom as talented as LSU Baseball's

As the transfer portal nears its close and all Jay Johnson waits on is if his draft picks will sign or return to LSU, you can't help but, admire this roster. Johnson brings in the Nation's top recruiting class paired with the Nation's top transfer class to add to the talented group of players Jay Johnson will return. We're a long way from the start of the College Baseball season but, the LSU Tigers have to be the National Championship Favorite going into the year.
